Product updates

What we changed, and what we are changing next.

Every update to this website, newest first, in plain words. Nothing here is a plan for a press release — it is the actual record, including the parts that were overdue.

v2026.10.2 3 October 2026 Running now

Every policy now shows what changed in it, and when

Each legal document carries its own history at the bottom — the date, the version, and in plain words what moved. The legal page shows all of them together as one timeline. A policy that can be edited quietly is worth very little, so the record is now in the open.

Internship terms, and what the certificate says

Law students applying for an internship used to accept three tick-boxes with no document behind them. There is now a full Internship Terms & Certificate Policy — what we ask for and why, what an intern does and never does, and exactly what the completion certificate states and will never state. The version a student accepted is recorded against their application.

Privacy & legal

A privacy notice for job applicants, and a job-fraud warning

The job application form collected a name, number and address with no notice attached to it. There is now an applicant privacy notice: what we collect, who sees it, and how long we keep it, with our own retention periods written down. It carries the warning that matters in this trade — we never charge anybody for a job — and the steps to take if somebody has already been charged in our name.

v2026.10.1 1 October 2026

Service and category counts now come from one place

The website was counting its own services two different ways, so one part of a page could say 523 and another 524. Both now come from the same list, and adding or removing a service in the admin panel updates every page on the website at the same moment rather than ten minutes later.

Across the website

The privacy notice is now available in Hindi

The whole notice, section for section, in Hindi — with a language bar at the top of both versions. Section 5(3) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives a person the option of reading a notice in a language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution, and Hindi is one of them.

Check that somebody contacting you really works here

Anybody from our team can give you their representative code. Type it on the new verify page and you will see who it belongs to. Along with it, a single page on fraud in our name: what we never ask for, and what to do first if money has already gone.

Across the website

Privacy consent on the service order form

The advocate consultation form already had it; the service order form did not. It now has the same consent, checked on the server as well as in the browser. The referral-code note and the four reassurances moved out of the form and onto the page beside it, so the form holds only what you have to fill in.

Orders & services

The Grievance Officer is named, not just designated

The rules require the name of the officer to be published, not only the post. The name now appears on all seven legal pages that carry a contact block, and in the text of the grievance page itself.

One place to reach an advocate, from every page

Every button that used to lead somewhere different — court pages, law pages, the top bar, the home page — now reaches the same place: one form that puts your matter in front of the advocates on the directory. Court pages carry the court name through, so it is filled in for you.

Guides for the Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad courts

Three long guides, each written around the thing that actually catches people out in that district — crossing into Haryana, leasehold land and the registry, and the colony licence. Where a fact could not be verified, the guide says so instead of filling the gap.

Guides & law pages
v2026.9.4 29 September 2026

The website opens faster

Every page view was opening a database connection and writing a session row before it drew anything. That work now happens only when it is actually needed, and search-engine crawlers no longer trigger it at all.

Speed & reliability

Refreshing a form no longer creates the entry twice

Pressing F5 after submitting could record the same booking a second time. Every form now carries a one-time slip, so a repeat submission is recognised and ignored.

Orders & services

Pages that move no longer lose their place in search

When a page is renamed or retired it now redirects properly instead of returning a page that looks fine but is empty, and the admin panel can manage those redirects directly.

The group websites are managed from the admin panel

Our ten specialist websites appear in the footer, on the home page, on service pages and in the website's structured data. All four now come from one list in the admin panel — change it once and it changes everywhere.

What is coming

Roughly in the order we expect to do it. There are no dates here on purpose — a date we guessed and then missed would cost more than it is worth, and nothing on this list is a commitment to you. It moves to the list above on the day it actually ships.

Being worked on

A guide for the Ghaziabad district court

The last of the NCR court guides. Each of the others was built around one thing that catches people out in that district, and this one is waiting until we are sure what that is for Ghaziabad rather than repeating what the other three already say.

Our own POSH policy, published

The website already explains the law on workplace harassment to other employers. Our own policy, and the committee behind it, should be published in the same way.

Planned, not started

More of the "do I actually need a lawyer" guides

Plain guides for the situations where people are not sure whether a matter needs an advocate at all. Seven of the planned set are still to be written.

More pages in Hindi

The privacy notice is in Hindi. The pages that a client reads before parting with a document should follow.

Fewer things to fill in when you order

Looking at which boxes on the order form actually change what we do, and removing the ones that do not.

What the version number means

The year, the month, and which release of that month it was. 2026.10.2 is the second update of October 2026.

We use the date rather than something like 3.4.1 because the date tells you something immediately — whether what you are looking at is current. A number like 3.4.1 is useful to somebody installing software on their own machine. This is a website, and you are always on the newest version of it the moment you load a page.

What is not on this page

Two things, both on purpose. Security work is never described here. Writing out what was hardened and when tells the wrong people exactly where to look, so that work happens quietly and stays off this page.

And changes to the legal documents are kept separately, because they matter in a different way: each policy carries its own history, and the legal page shows all of them as one timeline. If what you want to know is whether a term changed since you read it, that is the page.

Found something broken, or something that reads wrong? Tell us — +91 98913 43962, or through the grievance redressal page, where the officer is named. A fault you report is worth considerably more to us than a compliment.

Questions

About these updates

What does the version number mean?
It is the year, the month, and which release of that month it was. So 2026.10.2 is the second update of October 2026. We use dates rather than a number like 3.4.1 because a date tells you something useful straight away — how old the version you are looking at is. A number like 3.4.1 only means something to somebody who installs software, and this is a website.
How often does the website change?
There is no fixed schedule and we are not going to invent one. Work ships when it is finished and tested, which in practice has been every few days. Everything that has shipped is on this page with its date, so you can see the real pace rather than a claimed one.
Why are there no dates against the things that are coming?
Because we would be guessing, and a date that slips costs more trust than no date at all. The order on this page is roughly the order we expect to do things in, and that is as precise as we can honestly be. Something listed as being worked on is genuinely being worked on.
Does a change here ever affect an order I have already placed?
No. A price or a term agreed when you ordered is the one that applies to your order. Website changes affect how the site works, not what was already agreed with you. Changes to the policies themselves are recorded separately, on the legal page, with their own history.
Where do I report something that is broken?
Call +91 98913 43962, or write to our Grievance Officer, who is named on the grievance redressal page. Tell us the page and what happened. Something that is actually broken is worth far more to us than a compliment, and we would rather hear it from you than find it in a month.
Can I follow these updates?
Yes — there is an RSS feed at whats-new.php?feed=rss which carries every shipped update with its date. No sign-up and no email address needed.
Is every single change listed here?
Everything that changes what you can see or do, yes. Routine maintenance and security work is not listed, and deliberately so — describing security work in public tells the wrong people where to look. That is the one category we keep off this page on purpose.
Advocates & Clients

Need an advocate? Or are you one?

Two doors, both free. Clients search a factual directory of enrolled advocates. Advocates apply to be listed on it — no fee, no commission, nothing paid in either direction.

Looking for an advocate?

Search Bar Council enrolled advocates by what your matter is about, by court, or by city. Searching and sending a request are both free.

Are you an advocate?

Enrolled advocates anywhere in India can apply to be listed. Your entry is published only after we verify your enrolment number with your State Bar Council.

  • No listing fee, no subscription, no commission — no money moves in either direction.
  • A directory entry, not an advertisement: only the particulars the Bar Council permits.
  • You keep the client. We do not take instructions for you and take no share of your fee.

Would rather not pick anybody? Tell us the matter instead — one form goes to every advocate at once, and the first to take it up calls you.

This directory carries no ratings, no reviews, no rankings and no fees — only the factual particulars the Bar Council of India permits, published at each advocate's own request. Browse the network · Terms for Advocates
