A Village in Ballia, and a Train to Delhi

The story of this company does not begin in a law office. It begins in Pitambra, a village in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, and it begins with a boy of about fifteen deciding that he would not wait for circumstances to improve on their own.

In 2017, Deepu Yadav came to Delhi alone. There was no relative with an established business waiting at the station, no capital, and no plan more elaborate than to work, learn and take responsibility. Delhi is generous to people who are willing to be useful and merciless to people who expect to be looked after; he arrived understanding which of the two he intended to be.

That period — the years before any of the businesses existed — is the part of the story most relevant to our clients today. A person who has waited outside offices, been sent back for a missing paper, and been quoted one price and charged another does not later build a company that does those things to other people. Almost every operating rule this firm follows can be traced to an experience its founder had on the wrong side of the counter.

"I did not want to build a business that survives on a client's confusion. If a person understands exactly what they are paying for and exactly when it will be done, they come back — and they bring their family."

Learning Business Before Learning Law

What is unusual about this founder's path is that the entrepreneurship came first and the law came later. Most people in legal services begin with a degree and then look for work. He began with work and is now completing the degree — which is why the company is organised like an operating business rather than like a chamber.

The computer education centre (2021)

His first venture started in 2021, while he was still in class 10. Along with his science teacher, Mr. Ranjeet from Bihar, he founded a computer education centre. It ran for four years. Teaching is a demanding first business: you cannot exaggerate results, because a student either learns or does not, and parents talk to each other. It established a habit that still governs the firm — do not promise an outcome you cannot deliver.

Sukoon Pad — manufacturing

Next came Sukoon Pad, a sanitary napkin manufacturing venture built from zero. Manufacturing is an unforgiving teacher. It forces a person to think about raw material, machinery, quality control, cost per unit and distribution, all at once, with real money at stake. A service business can hide inefficiency behind charm; a factory cannot.

PureDeep Milk — distribution

PureDeep Milk, a milk brand, was built from scratch, run for a year, and then handed over to the family to operate. Milk is a product with no margin for error: it is bought daily, it spoils, and the customer notices immediately. Running it taught daily discipline and route-level reliability — the same reliability a client expects when told their certificate will be ready on Thursday.

Bike transport operations — ten drivers

He then operated a bike transport service in Delhi with ten drivers. This was the first business with a real team, and it taught the least glamorous and most useful lesson of all: a promise made to a customer is only as good as the system that delivers it. Ten independent people cannot be managed by goodwill. They need schedules, checks and accountability. That understanding is why every file at Legal Space Services today has a named owner and a tracked timeline instead of a vague assurance.

Entering Legal Services — 6 June 2021

By early 2021 a pattern had become obvious to him. Across every business he had run, the most stressed customers were not the ones with money problems — they were the ones caught in paperwork. A rent agreement that would not get made. An affidavit rejected twice for format. A couple who wanted to marry and were being quoted absurd figures by a man standing outside a court gate.

Court marriage in particular was, and largely still is, a market built on the applicant's fear. Fear of the family finding out. Fear of the police. Fear of doing something illegal when in fact the marriage is entirely legal. That fear is routinely converted into inflated fees.

Legal Space Services was founded on 6 June 2021 to work the opposite way: explain the law plainly, state the correct procedure, quote a fair price once, and complete the work. The company began with court marriage and Arya Samaj marriage services, supported from the start by practising advocates rather than by agents.

From that single Delhi desk the company has grown into a full legal services and documentation house — more than three hundred services across forty-five categories, delivered across Delhi NCR and every state of India, both online and offline. The founding principle has not changed: the price is stated once, nothing is charged before the work is done, and one named person owns your file from the first call to the final document.

Crossing a Thousand Couples

The marriage practice has since assisted more than a thousand couples. That number is worth unpacking, because a thousand marriage files is not a thousand copies of the same file.

It includes couples of different castes whose families were opposed, and who needed the procedure completed correctly so that no one could later question its validity. It includes inter-religion couples for whom the Special Marriage Act, 1954 and its thirty-day notice period had to be explained honestly rather than wished away. It includes NRI couples coordinating documents across time zones, and foreign nationals requiring embassy paperwork and single-status certificates. It includes couples who needed police protection, and couples whose only requirement was that the work finish quietly and quickly.

Each of those situations has a different correct answer. Handling a thousand of them is how a team learns to tell a client on the first call which route genuinely applies to them — rather than selling whichever route is most profitable.

Studying Law While Practising Its Documentation

The founder has completed a BA and is pursuing an LLB, expected to conclude in 2029. Alongside, he learns and practises under a senior advocate at Rohini Court, Delhi.

We state this precisely because precision matters here: he is a law student, not yet an enrolled advocate. Matters requiring an advocate are handled by the qualified advocates associated with the firm. Many organisations in this trade are deliberately vague about who exactly is "the lawyer". We would rather be exact — a client is entitled to know whether the person before them is counsel, an associate, or a documentation coordinator.

What the ongoing legal study does contribute is direction. A company run by someone reading the Special Marriage Act and watching how a registrar actually applies it is structurally different from one run by someone who has only heard about it.

MaraVakil.com — The Next Chapter

MaraVakil.com is the founder's answer to a problem he could not solve one client at a time.

The Indian legal market has an information gap on both sides. A citizen does not know which advocate to trust, what a fair price is, or what their matter genuinely requires — so they rely on whoever they happen to meet. Meanwhile a capable young advocate has the skill but no dependable system for finding clients, tracking cases, managing documents or collecting payment.

MaraVakil.com is being built as the bridge: verified advocates on one side, clients with clear pricing and clear expectations on the other, and a working case-management system in between. Launch is planned for 2026. It is the same principle we already apply manually in Delhi — transparency and accountability — rebuilt for national scale.

What the Story Means for Your File

A client does not hire a biography. So it is fair to ask what any of this changes in practice.

It changes three things. First, the company is run by someone who has been the person on the other side of the counter, so the instinct is to remove the client's uncertainty rather than trade on it. Second, it is run by someone who has managed manufacturing, distribution and a driver fleet, so the firm is organised around process — owners, schedules, written quotations — rather than around personal favours. Third, it is run by someone still studying the law under a senior advocate, so procedure is treated as something to get right, not something to improvise.

That is the whole of it. The rest is simply doing the work.

About the Founder

Who founded Legal Space Services?
Legal Space Services was founded by Deepu Yadav, a Delhi-based legal services entrepreneur originally from Pitambra village in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. He arrived in Delhi in 2017 at around fifteen years of age, built several businesses before founding Legal Space Services on 6 June 2021, and is currently pursuing an LLB while learning under a senior advocate at Rohini Court, Delhi.
Is the founder a practising advocate?
He is a law student, not yet an enrolled advocate. He has completed a BA and is pursuing an LLB expected to conclude in 2029, and he learns and practises under a senior advocate at Rohini Court. All matters that require an advocate are handled by the qualified advocates associated with the firm — this distinction is stated openly rather than blurred.
What businesses did the founder run before this company?
A computer education centre started in 2021 while he was in class 10 and run for four years; Sukoon Pad, a sanitary napkin manufacturing venture; PureDeep Milk, a milk brand later handed to family operations; and a bike transport service in Delhi with ten drivers. Each taught a different part of running a business — teaching, manufacturing, distribution and daily operations.
What is MaraVakil.com?
MaraVakil.com is a legal-technology platform being built by the same team, planned for launch in 2026. It is designed to connect citizens with verified advocates across India at transparent prices, and to give advocates a working system for client acquisition, case management, documentation and payments.
Why does the founder's background matter to a client?
Because it explains the operating style. Someone who has run a manufacturing unit and a ten-driver transport fleet thinks in terms of process, schedules and accountability rather than one-off favours. That is why every file here has a named owner, a written quotation and a tracked timeline.
