Legal Documents

Everything we are bound by, in one place — what you agree to when you order, what we do with your data, how to complain, and the separate set that applies to advocates listed with us.

Effective from2 September 2026
Last updated3 October 2026
Applies toLegal Space Services website and services

We publish all of this openly rather than burying it, because somebody handing over an original document is entitled to read what they are agreeing to before they hand it over. Each page carries its effective date and its last-updated date at the top. If anything on them is unclear, our Grievance Officer is named with a direct contact and answering a question costs nothing.

If you are a client or a visitor

These decide what happens between you and us when you use this website or order a service.

If you are an advocate listed with us

A separate set. A client does not need these; an advocate should read all four before applying.

If you are applying to work or intern with us

Two documents of their own, because a student and a job applicant hand over different things for different reasons.

Safety

What we never ask for, and how to check that somebody using our name really works here.

What has changed, and when

Every change we have made to any of these documents, newest first. A policy that can be edited quietly is worth very little, so we keep the record in the open.

Applicant Privacy & Job Fraud Alert v1.0First published. The job application form collected a name, number, address and ID number with no notice attached to it, and the warning that we never charge for a job sat only inside the careers page.
Grievance Redressal v1.3Added the two further routes a complaint can take: the applicant privacy notice for somebody who applied for a job, and the internship terms for a student.
Internship Terms & Certificate Policy v1.0First published. Until now the terms a student accepted were three tick-boxes on the application form with no version recorded against them, and nothing set out what the completion certificate does and does not say.
Grievance Redressal v1.2Named the Grievance Officer in the text and in the contact table, not only the designation. Linked the fraud page and the representative-code check.
Privacy Policy v1.2Added section 17 on the language this notice is available in, quoting section 5(3) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and published the whole notice in Hindi. Named the Grievance Officer.
Report Fraud in Our Name v1.0First published. What to do first if money has already gone, the four things we never ask for, and how to check that somebody is ours — all of which were buried inside other pages before.
निजता नीति (हिन्दी) v1.0First published — the full privacy notice in Hindi, so that it can be read in a language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.
Advocate Declarations v1.0First published, as version ADV-DECL-2026-09-1.0. That version is recorded against every advocate who accepts it.
Advocate Listing Policy v1.0First published.
Bar Council Compliance v1.0First published.
Cookie Policy v1.0First published.
Disclaimer v1.0First published.
Grievance Redressal v1.0First published.
Privacy Policy v1.0First published.
Refund & Cancellation v1.0First published.
Terms for Advocates v1.0First published.
Terms of Use v1.0First published.

Questions

Common questions

Which document applies to me?
If you have ordered or are about to order a service, the Terms of Use and the Refund & Cancellation policy are the two that decide things between us. If your question is about your personal data, it is the Privacy Policy, which is also available in Hindi. If something has gone wrong, go straight to Grievance Redressal — the officer is named there with a direct contact.
Who is the Grievance Officer and how fast do you reply?
The officer is named in full on the Grievance Redressal page along with an email, a phone number and working hours, as Rule 3(2) of the IT Rules, 2021 requires. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. A request to exercise a right under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is answered within 90 days.
Is Legal Space Services a law firm?
No. Legal Space Services is a legal services and documentation company. It is not a law firm, does not practise law and does not appear in court. Court work is for your advocate, whose fee is engaged and paid by you directly; we do not quote, collect or share it. The Disclaimer sets out the Bar Council of India position in full.
Are the advocate documents different from the client ones?
Yes, and deliberately. Four documents deal only with the advocate side — the terms an advocate accepts, the declarations they sign, what a listing does and does not contain, and why a listing is a factual directory entry rather than an advertisement under Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules. A client does not need to read those, and an advocate should read all four.
When were these last changed?
Every document carries its effective date and its last-updated date at the top of the page. They are versioned together, so the dates are the same across the set unless a page says otherwise.
Advocates & Clients

Need an advocate? Or are you one?

Two doors, both free. Clients search a factual directory of enrolled advocates. Advocates apply to be listed on it — no fee, no commission, nothing paid in either direction.

Looking for an advocate?

Search Bar Council enrolled advocates by what your matter is about, by court, or by city. Searching and sending a request are both free.

Are you an advocate?

Enrolled advocates anywhere in India can apply to be listed. Your entry is published only after we verify your enrolment number with your State Bar Council.

  • No listing fee, no subscription, no commission — no money moves in either direction.
  • A directory entry, not an advertisement: only the particulars the Bar Council permits.
  • You keep the client. We do not take instructions for you and take no share of your fee.

Would rather not pick anybody? Tell us the matter instead — one form goes to every advocate at once, and the first to take it up calls you.

This directory carries no ratings, no reviews, no rankings and no fees — only the factual particulars the Bar Council of India permits, published at each advocate's own request. Browse the network · Terms for Advocates
