Please read this before you use any part of this website. It explains what this website is, what it is not, and the basis on which the information here is made available to you.
Advocates in India are governed by the Advocates Act, 1961 and by the Bar Council of India Rules. Rule 36 in Section IV, Chapter II of Part VI of those Rules provides that an advocate shall not solicit work or advertise, whether directly or indirectly, whether by circulars, advertisements, touts, personal communications, interviews not warranted by personal relations, furnishing or inspiring newspaper comments, or producing photographs to be published in connection with cases in which the advocate has been engaged or concerned.
A proviso added to Rule 36 permits an advocate to furnish, on a website, only the limited factual particulars approved by the Bar Council of India — broadly the advocate's name, address, telephone number and email address, enrolment number and the State Bar Council of enrolment, professional and academic qualifications, and areas of practice. Publishing anything beyond those approved particulars can amount to professional misconduct under Section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
This website has been built to stay within that boundary. The advocate pages on this website carry factual particulars only, supplied by the advocate concerned, published at that advocate's own request, and verified by us against the enrolment details given to us. They contain no claim of superiority, no promise of a result, no ranking, no rating, no testimonial and no comparison with any other advocate.
By accessing, browsing or otherwise using this website, you acknowledge and agree that:
Legal Space Services, established on 6 June 2021 at New Delhi, India, is a documentation, filing and coordination company. It is not a law firm, it is not an association of advocates, and it does not practise law. Neither the company nor its employees hold themselves out as advocates, and none of them render legal advice.
The work we do ourselves is administrative and clerical in nature — explaining what a process requires, preparing and typing forms, collecting and checking documents against a checklist, arranging appointments, paying prescribed government fees on your instructions, following up on an application, and keeping you informed of its progress.
Where a matter requires legal advice, legal drafting that calls for an advocate's professional judgement, an opinion on your rights, or appearance before a court, tribunal or authority, that work is done by an independent advocate enrolled with a State Bar Council, in that advocate's own name and on that advocate's own responsibility. We tell you clearly which part of your matter is being handled by whom.
No lawyer-client relationship, and no relationship of any professional or fiduciary nature, arises between you and Legal Space Services by reason of:
A lawyer-client relationship arises only when an advocate, in their own name, expressly accepts your matter after considering it and after satisfying themselves that there is no conflict of interest. Until that happens, please do not send us or any advocate anything you regard as confidential or privileged.
The advocates whose particulars appear on this website are independent professionals. They are not our employees, partners, agents or representatives, and we are not theirs. We do not control, direct or supervise the professional work they do. Each advocate is solely responsible for the advice they give, the manner in which they conduct a matter, the fee they charge and their compliance with the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.
A profile appears on this website only after the advocate has applied to be listed, has supplied their own particulars, and has confirmed in writing that the listing is made at their own request and is not intended as an advertisement or solicitation. We check the enrolment details supplied to us before a profile is published. We do not, and cannot, certify the quality of any advocate's professional work.
We do not share, and will not share, any part of an advocate's professional fee. Any amount you pay an advocate for legal advice or representation is payable to that advocate directly, in that advocate's own name.
The order in which profiles appear is neutral and does not indicate merit, seniority or any preference. Where you send a consultation request, we pass it to the advocate whose stated area of practice matches the subject of your matter; that is an administrative routing step, not a recommendation, and the choice of advocate always remains yours.
The guides, service descriptions, checklists, timelines, frequently asked questions and other material on this website are written in general terms for a general reader. Law, procedure, prescribed fees and the requirements of a particular court or office change from time to time and differ from place to place, and the outcome of any matter depends entirely on its own facts.
Nothing on this website is an opinion on your matter and nothing here should be acted upon without professional advice on your own facts. We disclaim any and all liability to any person for any loss or damage caused by an error or omission in this material, whether such error or omission results from negligence, accident or any other cause.
We do not guarantee, and no advocate associated with us guarantees, the outcome of any matter, the grant of any registration, licence or certificate, or the acceptance of any application by any court, authority or office. Any timeline we give is a good-faith estimate based on how a particular office has been working, and it can change because of a court date, a public holiday, a strike, a server outage, a change in procedure, an objection raised by the office, or a document that turns out to be missing or defective.
Prices shown on this website are indicative starting prices for our own documentation and coordination work. They are exclusive of government fees, court fees, stamp duty, registration charges, notary charges, photographs, courier, travel and any statutory tax, unless a page says otherwise in terms. The final amount depends on what your matter actually requires, and we confirm it to you in writing before work begins.
Where an advocate's consultation fee is shown, that figure is the fee stated to us by that advocate for their own information. It is not an offer made by us, we do not collect it, and we take no share in it.
