Please note: This page is published for information only. Nothing here is an advertisement, an invitation or a solicitation of work, and nothing here is legal advice. Advocate details are published with consent and are limited to name, qualifications, enrolment number, areas of practice and contact — as permitted under the Bar Council of India Rules. Consultations are coordinated by Legal Space Services. An advocate–client relationship arises only on formal engagement.

Are you an advocate?

Enrolled advocates can apply to be listed here. Your profile is published only after we verify your enrolment number with the State Bar Council, and it carries only what the Bar Council Rules permit — name, qualifications, enrolment, practice areas and contact. There is no listing fee, no subscription and no commission; nothing is paid in either direction. Once approved you also get your own login, and an Application Number to follow the application with.

Quick answer: How does an advocate get listed on Legal Space Services? An advocate enrolled with any State Bar Council in India can apply free at advocate-join.php. The application asks for the enrolment number, the State Bar Council, practice areas, the courts the advocate appears in, and the state and district. Legal Space Services verifies the enrolment number against the State Bar Council record before anything is published. There is no listing fee, no subscription and no commission, and no advocate pays Legal Space Services anything of any kind. Listings are shown alphabetically — they are never ranked, rated or ordered by payment, because Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules does not permit an advocate to advertise or solicit work. Only the particulars allowed by the Schedule to Rule 36 are published: name, qualifications, enrolment details, areas of practice and contact. Professional fees are never published. After approval the advocate gets a panel login and an Application Number to track the application with, and can have the entry amended or removed on the same day by asking.
Quick answer: Is there any charge — to the advocate or to the client? No, in either direction. A client pays Legal Space Services nothing to search this directory or to send a consultation request. An advocate pays Legal Space Services nothing to be listed — no listing fee, no subscription, no commission and no share of any professional fee. Legal Space Services is a legal services and documentation company, not a law firm, and does not practise law. The advocate states their own fee directly to the client on the first call; it is not set, quoted or collected by Legal Space Services.
Questions

Finding the right advocate

The first four are the questions clients ask. The rest are the ones advocates ask before applying to be listed — what it costs, what gets published, and what happens to the Bar Council Rules.

How do I find the right advocate for my matter?
Type what your matter is about — divorce, property, cheque bounce, bail — or pick a practice area from the list. The search also understands a court name (Tis Hazari, Saket, Rohini) and a city. Every profile shows the advocate's enrolment number, State Bar Council, years at the Bar, practice areas and the courts they appear before. There are no ratings, no rankings and no fees on this directory — profiles are listed alphabetically.
Is there any charge to search or to send a consultation request?
No. Searching this directory and sending a consultation request are both free. The advocate's own professional fee is settled between you and the advocate directly — it is never published here, never collected by us and we take no share of it.
Are these advocates verified?
Yes. Every profile is checked against the enrolment number and State Bar Council details supplied by the advocate before it is approved and published. Only approved profiles appear in this search.
Can I consult from outside Delhi or from abroad?
Yes. Consultations are held over phone or video, so clients anywhere in India and non-resident Indians abroad can consult. Where a physical appearance in a Delhi court is needed, the associated advocate appears on your behalf.
I am an advocate. How do I get listed on this directory?
Apply free on the Apply to be listed form. It asks for your enrolment number, your State Bar Council, your practice areas, the courts you appear in, and your state and district. We verify the enrolment number against the State Bar Council record before anything is published, so the entry goes live only after that check. Once approved you get your own panel login and an Application Number to follow the application with. Nothing is published while the application is still under review.
What does it cost an advocate to be listed?
Nothing, ever. There is no listing fee, no subscription, no commission, and no share of any professional fee. No advocate pays us anything of any kind, and we pay no advocate anything either. Rule 2 of Part VI, Chapter II, Section II of the Bar Council of India Rules bars an advocate from sharing fees with a person who is not an advocate, and this directory is built so that the question never arises.
Will being listed here amount to advertising or soliciting work?
It is designed so that it does not. Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules bars an advocate from advertising or soliciting work, and the Schedule to that Rule sets out the particulars that may be stated. We publish only those particulars — name, qualifications, enrolment details, areas of practice and contact. We publish no fee, no rating, no ranking, no testimonial, no case result and no claim of superiority, and profiles are listed alphabetically. Information here is published for a visitor who seeks it of their own accord.
Can an advocate change or remove their listing later?
Yes, on the same day and without giving a reason. An advocate can edit the entry from their own panel login, or ask us and we will amend or take it down. If a listing is taken down, the profile stops appearing in this search and the public page stops working at once.
Do you send an advocate clients, or decide who gets them?
No. The client chooses the advocate from this directory and sends a request to that advocate. Our desk calls the client first to understand the facts and to check that the matter falls in the right practice area, and then puts the two in touch. We do not allocate work, do not rank advocates, and take no part in what is agreed between the client and the advocate afterwards.
